Guardianship : Beyond the Basics
This course begins with an overview of guardianship, then addresses decisional capacity, surrogate decision making, and alternatives to guardianship. It is designed to provide a better understanding of the legal and clinical aspects of guardianship. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss cases they have encountered and instructors will be available to answer questions.
Who should attend? This training is suggested for those familiar with the basics of guardianship, or who have completed our “Intro to Guardianship” course.
Benefits of Training
This training will dive into the best practices of making decisions for another, preparing for and dealing with end of life decisions as a guardian, and how to advocate for a person under guardianship. This course will walk you through record keeping and preparing necessary legal documentation for court submission.

CEUs are available for this course and are included in the cost of registration.
