Karen is the Program Manager and Grant Writer for The Center for Guardianship Excellence, a non-profit organization focused on research, education, and support for guardians and professionals providing decision making support. Karen’s academic career shaped her belief that education should be accessible to all and she strives to build and sustain a personal and approachable brand for the Center. Her previous experiences have allowed her the opportunity to build the knowledge and expertise she uses to plan and organize a robust calendar of education, events, and support for The Center’s clients.
Prior to joining the Center for Guardianship Excellence, Karen was an operations manager, an office manager, an event coordinator, and a dental assistant. Each of these roles helped Karen to build on her expertise and leadership. From organization to execution, Karen brings professionalism, energy, and creativity to everything she does.
A lifelong learner, Karen is currently pursuing a Certificate in Grant Writing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She holds Associates degrees in both Business Administration, Management and Operations as well as Dental Clinical Sciences. Always looking to further her knowledge, she also has a Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning and certificates in Dental Assisting and Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations.
When Karen is not managing The Center’s workflow, she enjoys planning events for friends and family, fostering dogs, gardening, and being creative in any way she can.
